A Review of Events Relative to the Texas Bible College Alumni & Friends Association
By: Rev Kevin Prince
In the interest of forming an active alumni association for Texas Bible College, the TBC Board of Directors called for an Alumni Association Formation Meeting on February 24 – 25, 2005. The Board felt that alumni could best decide the structure and purposes of the association.
Alumni from across the years of the College’s history and from across the nation gathered at the College campus in Lufkin, Texas. Alumni from every era of the College’s history were in attendance. There were even some from the pioneer class! Alumni came from Texas and the surrounding states of Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas and from as far away as Kansas, Missouri and Michigan.
"..we can learn from the rhino: CHARGE!"
There is a certain rule in life that I’ve found to be very important. It particularly applies if you’re confronted by a crisis in life. It’s called the “Rhino Rule.”
The rhinocerus is the last of the antediluvian quadrupeds to carry a great weight of body armor. By all the rules of progressive design and the process of natural selection the rhino ought to have been eliminated. But it has not been yet! Why not?
Because the rhino is single minded. When it perceives an object, it makes a decision- TO CHARGE!!! And it puts everything it has into that charge. When the charge is over, the object is either flattened or has gone a long way into cover, whereupon the rhino instantly resumes browsing.
